Long doubted between the A7 and A7II, decisive was the in-body image stabilization (IBIS) of the A7II. Really amazing how well this works!! Suddenly I can use my old telephoto lenses perfectly again. This feature is unique, no other FF camera has it to my knowledge: I've become a huge fan of Sony in one fell swoop! You do have to enter the focal length manually (if you have fully mechanical lenses), but that is easy to set under the quick menu. The options are endless, the viewfinder works very nicely and because this is just a permanent "lifeview" it saves me a lot of time; what you see is what you get!
Downside remains the somewhat slow autofocus compared to an SLR, fast enough for point-and-shoot, but if you want to photograph children or moving animals, it is just not fast enough... Although object tracking works quite well! Also a nice feature is eye-tracking when you shoot a portrait, the camera continuously searches for the eye and ensures that it is always razor-sharp, in the past I always had to apply micro-adjustments manually!
Another downside is the increase in size and weight compared to the A7, personally I found the A7 nicer in the hand, but enough people say the opposite. My advice; definitely go to a store where they have it in the display case to hold it in your hand first, or even better: use the cool Coolblue return service!

After decades of traveling with different brands of SLRs, now we are going the pro with this great camera. Especially the full frame and low light performance make it a pleasure to shoot every time. Mainly use for in-house portraits, weddings/parties.

The camera is very easy to hold and it is also very user-friendly when switching from another brand of camera. After some searching you will find all settings easily. I am already very satisfied!
