According to our smartwatch expert
With the Garmin Vivosport HR around your wrist, you'll know exactly how active you are on any given day. The activity tracker uses the built-in GPS and motion sensors to count your steps, measure the calories you've burned, your speed, and your distance travelled. Curious how high your heart rate is when jogging? The Vivosport HR will tell you. The color screen allows you to read data and receive messages from your smartphone. Want to take a more elaborate look at your achievements? Simply use the accompanying app.
Note: an adapter isn't included. Do you want to charge the watch via a socket? If so, order an adapter separately.

I have a narrow wrist (about 13.5 cm), which limits the choice of sports watches quite a bit. Most sports watches start from 13.7 cm and that does not fit nicely, making it uncomfortable. The vivosmart hr+ was unfortunately too big and too thick. The vivosmart 3 hr is great in size, but because the screen reacts badly, it has also fallen off. So the vivosport hr was my last option. The design is exactly the same as the vivosmart 3 and therefore very suitable for a narrow wrist. It is also really thin for a sports watch, about one centimeter, which makes it look great on a narrow wrist. See the attached photos. It is also super light and you hardly feel it.
What is really nice about the vivosport are the goals. By default, it is set to 7500 steps per day. This goal is adjusted every day, so if you don't walk much, the goal goes down and vice versa. There are also goals for the number of stairs you climb and intensive exercise per week. You can also adjust the goals yourself. When you complete a target, the watch vibrates and fireworks are set off on the screen. That is very motivating!
You can choose from a number of start screens, for example only time or time and heart rate. Other screens include steps, heart rate, and calories. You can also see notifications from your phone on the vivosport and you can control music from the watch (spotify). If you hold the screen for a while, you will reach the menu. There you can, among other things, turn on your alarm (set an alarm in the app) and start activities.
The vivosport can also be used underwater, which I think is a huge plus. I've only tested this while washing and the screen was fine to use while wet.
The vivosport has a screen that is unlit as standard (see photos). Easy to read in daylight and you can't see it in the dark, which is nice when you're lying in bed. When you tap it, the screen will light up. Furthermore, the screen has color and small animations, such as moving feet at the pedometer. The screen responds well when you tap it. You can also set the vivosport so that the backlight turns on when you make the standard "I'm looking at my watch" movement.
Because the watch is so thin, it is not annoying when you sleep with it. My phone also tracks when I wake up and fall asleep and that's right. Because I always look just before I go to sleep and just after I wake up. When I sync my vivosport in the app, it is often off by half an hour when falling asleep as well as when waking up. You can easily adjust this again, but it's a shame. It also keeps track of when you sleep deeply and when you sleep lightly.
To see how full your battery is, you first have to go to the settings menu (cogwheel) and then again to a settings menu (spanner) and then under "about" you will find how full it is. I find this quite cumbersome. You can put it on your home screen, but there is only 1 option for that. And that just has to be the design that you like (I think it's too busy). The battery lasts about 4 days.
Furthermore, the vivosport registers itself when you are cycling, walking or swimming. If you do another activity, you can indicate this. For example, if you do strength training, you can indicate this in your watch. You can also keep track of your repetitions and rest. You can then view the activity afterwards in the Garmin Connect app. The repetitions are generally correct. The exercises not always, but that is easy to adjust. The app has a lot of exercises, which is very nice.
With bluetooth you can sync your vivosport in the app, this works fine. So you don't have to turn on your bluetooth all day long. Furthermore, the app is also clear and complete. It takes a while to find your way around, but once you have that, you can get a lot of information out of it.
All in all a super sports watch that does what it is intended for!

You expect that this watch (certainly after reading the positive reviews) would have some degree of accuracy. However, the pedometer counts during a shower (when I stand fairly still) with ease 200 steps. Climbing a watchtower (10 stairs) is recorded as 2 stairs. And if I'm feeding my son a bottle in the middle of the night, the watch interprets this as REM sleep. A little off is acceptable, but errors like this make the measurements totally useless for anything. Very disappointing for a device of this price

After more than 2 months in use my experiences. The options are more than sufficient and the app offers enough insight into your activities and health. I use the Vivosport to track my daily movement and to record various sports activities. The possibilities are sufficient for these activities. But:
All in all, I'm quite disappointed with the vivosport.
