Pros and cons

According to our smartwatch expert
  • The watch uses data from other Garmin users to determine popular routes via roads and trails.
  • In addition to registering your route, the watch also uses a map to point you in the right direction.
  • Displays heart rate zones while you're working out so that you can work out with a specific target in mind, for example to improve your stamina.
  • Due to the advanced readings and functions, the watch is less suitable if you work out occasionally.
  • Garmin isn't compatible with all Huawei smartphones.

Description

Are you looking for an outdoor sports watch? The Garmin Fenix 5s Plus is a good choice. Thanks to the GPS sensor and the GLONASS compatibility, you can easily navigate with help of maps on the watch. Load music to the Fenix and enjoy your favorite songs while training. Do you want to know exactly how intensely you're training? The heart rate sensor shows you which heart rate zone you're in. When you're in the woods or the mountains, you'll know exactly where you are thanks to the barometric altimeter and the 3D compass.

Note: an adapter isn't included. Do you want to charge the watch via a socket? If so, order an adapter separately.

"If you want a every day all day watch, that's it."

Nikolas Moya | 25 June 2019

  • Pros:
Great middle option between the Forerunner series and Fenix 5 (heavy and bulky).
  • Con:
The screen is now as bright or sharp as the picture. You get used to it very fast and makes the battery lasts longer.

A great middle option between the Forerunner, which has fewer features but it is lighter and the Fenix 5, which is heavy and bulky.

"Worth every penny of it."

Francis Engels | 2 July 2019 | In the version: 42 mm | Yes

  • Pros:
    Many options, activity types
  • Pros:
    navigation and maps
  • Pros:
    Spotify app
  • Pros:
    slim design
  • Pros:
    durability
  • Con:
    bit pricey, maybe
  • Con:
    rubber watch band

I like the many different options you have, making it a very widely usable and all-round device if you're in to data gathering like me. Also the ability to do your workout without having your cell phone or wallet with you is nice. It's being my personal coach and motivator to keep going for the last couple of weeks. Liking it very much.
