According to our monitor expert
Thanks to the 144HZ refresh rate and 1ms response time, you experience smooth images while gaming.
The IPS panel allows you to see true colors from every angle.
This monitor has Freesync and is G-sync compatible, so you can avoid hitches with both NVIDIA and AMD video cards.
This monitor doesn't have USB ports to connect your peripherals.
The ASUS TUF VG259Q is a 25-inch full HD gaming monitor designed for shooters and other fast-paced games. Due to the high refresh rate of 144Hz, the screen refreshes very fast. This means you'll experience less ghosting. Motion blur is also a thing of the past thanks to the 1ms response time. The TUF VG259Q has Freesync and is G-sync Compatible. This means the refresh rate of your monitor is matched with the fps of your NVIDIA or AMD video card. The IPS panel provides a large color gamut with a wide viewing angle, allowing people sitting next to you to also watch. You can also hang the monitor on the wall thanks to the VESA mount compatibility. Thanks to the integrated speakers, you don't necessarily need a headset. The VG259Q is adjustable in several ways. You can reduce strained eyes with the blue light filter and the flicker-free technology.
I bought this screen as an upgrade for a 60Hz PLS screen. Thanks to the 144Hz IPS panel, I can enjoy the higher refresh rate with Freesync / G-Sync compatibility, without having to sacrifice image quality. I had previously feared that the screen would be too bright for me, but thanks to the extensive customization options and the built-in blue light filter, this is not a problem.
The image looks best to me in sRGB mode, but unfortunately you can't adjust the brightness in this mode (as with most brands). Fortunately, there are plenty of options to adjust the screen to your preferences. The only downside here I think is that you are required to use 'Racing Mode' if you want to enable the Blue light filter. However, you can get around this by setting the RGB values yourself on a scale from 1 to 100.
All in all, I can recommend this screen to anyone looking for a 25" IPS panel, as it is one of the few options. The extra price compared to a TN panel is absolutely worth it.
