The Lenovo ThinkBook 15p - 20V30038MH is a laptop for creative people. Thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q video card, your videos render faster. You can also easily multitask in demanding programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Thanks to the i5 processor and 16GB RAM, the laptop won't slow down. The Windows 10 Pro operating system offers extra security features. For example, you can store your files encrypted and log in to other computers within your domain. The backlit keyboard lets you find the right keys even when it's dark. Your safety is ensured with this ThinkBook. You can log in safely and quickly via the fingerprint sensor. When you're not video calling, you can cover the webcam with the physical camera cover. Do you have technical problems? No worries. Because of a 2-year on-site warranty, Lenovo will send a technician to fix this.

The laptop is very fast and silent for most tasks. The laptop feels super fast on all tasks including light games. As an indication, Minecraft runs stable around 130fps with a render distance of 16, with a render distance of 8 I even get up to 250fps stable. When the fans turn on, they are clearly audible. On some sites I came across reviews that describe a high-pitched beep when the fans are running full and I understand where these reviews come from. If I do my best I can also hear a high-pitched beep, but I certainly don't notice this as "disturbing". There are different cooling programs to select and with the most extreme programs you can feel the cold air coming out of the device.
The screen is nice and matte, making it easy to read in any situation. This is fairly standard these days and so just meets expectations. On the left side the pixels fit perfectly to the bezels of the screen with at most 0.01 cm between the end of the pixels and bezel around the screen. On the right, however, this is not the case with at least 0.2cm between the end of the pixels and the bezels around the screen. This makes it seem as if the screen is not quite seated properly. However, this is about millimeter work, but I think it is good to name it because I immediately noticed it when using the laptop. I can't tell if this is only happening with my laptop, or if this is happening throughout the series. In the meantime I'm used to it and it's fine, but it does feel a bit like a bad finish.
The laptop itself feels very sturdy due to the use of metal in the housing. This makes the laptop a bit heavier, but for me this was a conscious choice and therefore completely fine. Between the bottom plate and the top plate (which contains the keyboard) is a small space, which is not the same in every place. So here again a point on the finish, but certainly not something that disturbs in daily use. What is a bit more annoying, the trackpad is at the bottom right bottom a little bit deeper in the housing than all the other sides, again it is about millimeter work, but it is noticeable during use and visible.
The most striking thing about this laptop is the audio quality. This is very impressive for a laptop and far beyond my expectations (although I had no specific expectations regarding the audio). The volume certainly does not have to be at 100% for a great audio experience. And while watching series or listening to music, I had the idea that I suddenly heard extra sounds that you don't get with a telephone or 15,- earphones. Another nice feature is the fingerprint scanner in the on and off button. If you use your fingerprint to log in and you turn on the computer with this button, you will be logged in automatically without having to touch the sensor again.
Several sites state that the USB-C connection is 3.2, but this would mean that I can connect a screen to the laptop using a USB-C dock. This does not seem to work and when I look in device manager I also see USB 3.1 as the highest standard. This is currently still being investigated by the toppers of CoolBlue. I have a laptop for work that is connected to a screen, keyboard and internet cable by means of a USB-C docking station. I had hoped to also be able to connect a laptop to my docking station so that I could use the same peripherals by swapping 1 simple cable. Unfortunately that is not the case. Keyboard and internet connection work perfectly but the screen is not recognized. That could be true with USB 3.1 instead of 3.2. Separately in the HDMI port, the screen works fine and luckily this is a use case that I might use once every two months. But I think it's good to mention this, especially since the laptop is actually aimed at the business market and I see USB-c docking stations appearing in more and more offices.
As a last point I have the software, Lenovo has a Microsoft app that controls the functionality of the hotkeys. Unfortunately I have to start this manually after every reboot. If I don't start the software myself, half of the hotkeys don't wake up. Why this should be I don't understand and the only help lenovo gives is "perform a reinstall of windows". Since this has been going on since the first time, I don't think this is going to be the solution. The hotkeys for volume and screen brightness do work immediately after a reboot, so the problem is not very big.
I would have liked to add some images to show the points in the finish, unfortunately I can't upload them :( I hope my explanation is sufficient to give an image to future buyers, don't let it get you too much put off, price/hardware ratio, this is really a top laptop :)

Great product, bought it because it looks like a normal laptop and still has good specs. Start up quickly, thanks to the built-in fingerprint you can log in quickly. When you turn it on, it remembers your fingerprint and you are on your desktop within 10 seconds. Sometimes it doesn't work so you have to put your finger on it again. It also has a very nice pretty bright (for me) screen. Numpad is also very useful. Battery life is a bit short but it's enough for me. It also plays very well and smoothly, Solid Edge runs beautifully smoothly!! There will be a very high, at first irritating, beep with heavy tasks such as gaming and 3D design. Fortunately, if you have earphones in or headphones on, you won't hear it! Very nice and sleek design, you can quickly see the oiliness of your fingers. 16GB of RAM is enough for years to come, as is the 512GB SSD storage.

Fine machine. Nice and fast. Little unnecessary software from Lenevo itself.
