Pressure valve cover seems flimsy

I've been cooking dried pulses with the pressure cooker, saving time & energy vs. in ambient pressure. The results taste way better than the canned stuff. Operates between 50 kPa and 80kPa gauge pressure modes.

The plastic valve cover seemed only partially secured, like a loose tooth, but has not flown off after a dozen uses so it must be working as intended. It's surprisingly heavy; it doesn't bother me, but can be an issue for some. Overall I'm happy with it.
