My old modem from the internet provider now serves as an extra switch and also as a WiFi access point in the attic. LED show on the device is not necessary for me, so I turned it off. Make sure that the rest of your network is also tuned to 2.5/10Gbit, think of the right cables, switch, network cards etc. Otherwise you will not get much out of it.
