Sony 55-inch Bravia 8 OLED 4K (2024)

I was able to test this TV together with the new Soundbar from Sony. The combination is really ideal, because it fits perfectly on a TV cabinet without taking up much space. Unpacking the TV was easy. Unfortunately no setting. I'm writing this review now that I've had the TV for more than a week. But everything went wrong during the first setup. The combination with soundbar turned out not to be set up properly, so I spent a week fumbling around to get the sound right again. After resetting everything, I can finally enjoy this TV. When you start up you will see Google TV. Nice in itself, but not really conveniently set up. It takes some getting used to compared to the previous TV we have/had. I think the color splendor on TV is very beautiful! This also applies to contrast, it is really sharp! Anyway, when we started Netflix, for example, we immediately found the sound to be very disappointing. Especially with Disney TV. In retrospect, this was a misconfiguration of the TV, but this is partly caused by the short instructions for use. This is also not so clear on the website. The sound of the TV is ok, but not great. Sounds cool to hear voices coming out of the screen instead of underneath. This is unique at Sony. So the image is beautiful. Although sometimes it is noticeable that, for example, a face is not sharp. What is really disturbing is that the image sometimes stutters. And everything we've looked at so far. Sometimes, for example, with an animal that is running fast, a fraction of the tail remains visible while the image switches to another image. Sony really needs to update this, this is not possible with such an expensive TV! OLED is very nice, the image reflects less than our current TV. Sony Bravia app is useful. But could be better. Takes quite a while before it responds to TV. I think it takes some getting used to. You will also receive 2 remote controls. 1 old-fashioned with many buttons and 1 modern with the most useful buttons! I would buy this TV, but with the soundbar included. Because this makes it one whole. However, the price is high compared to other TVs. Perhaps Sony will do something about this

Easy to use, very nice picture and very good sound

I recently had the opportunity to test this Sony Bravia 8 and am very impressed with its performance. The installation was very easy thanks to the clear instructions and I had the television installed and working in no time. This is partly due to the accessible and user-friendly operating software and remote control. The television also has an eco dashboard with which you can easily adjust energy-saving settings and monitor energy consumption. Due to the vivid colors, sharp contrast and incredibly realistic details, the image quality is simply fantastic. The sound quality is also impressive. The built-in speakers provide a full, rich sound that is synchronized with the image. This combination provides a cinema experience at home. This television also does not disappoint for gamers and provides a wonderful gaming experience.
