The router makes a very promising impression at first. If you test it downstairs, right by the router, you effortlessly achieve speeds of over 1000 Mbps. Unfortunately, that picture changes as soon as you have to pass through a concrete wall to install the first satellite. The speed then drops abruptly to around 300 Mbps. With wooden ceilings, the loss is slightly less, but even there, you are ultimately left with about 250 Mbps.
What is particularly disappointing is the data speed of the NAS. Even via a wired connection, it does not exceed 100 Mbps. By comparison, my six-year-old Orbi RBE50 was no less than four times as fast here. The only way to achieve acceptable speeds appears to be placing an extra switch between the equipment. Only then do you see speeds of 1000+ Mbps again, both at the router and at the satellite.
Conclusion: this product does not live up to expectations. If you switch from an older Orbi RBE50 to a modern Wi-Fi 7 system, you would clearly expect more speed and better performance via satellites. Unfortunately, that is not the case here.
