Bosch WRB247C5NL Air Max Dry

I discovered that drying my laundry can also be enjoyable with the Bosch WRB247C5NL. This energy-efficient heat pump dryer has several features that provide extra convenience. For example, I get better drying results thanks to Air Max Dry. My laundry also dries faster thanks to SpeedPerfect Plus. With the economical eco program, drying a full drum takes longer, but it does save me more energy.

First impression The dryer has a sleek design thanks to the black glass drum door and touchscreen. The display is completely black when the dryer is off. When I turn the display on, the programs and functions appear after a few seconds. When I open the door, the light comes on. This gives me a good view of my laundry in the drum. I'm impressed that there's plenty of room for a large load of laundry. This allows me to dry all my bedding at once.

Better drying results A new feature of this dryer is Air Max Dry. Thanks to a new internal design, the air is blown into a larger area of the drum. The even airflow ensures more contact with my laundry, resulting in better drying results. I also dry at a lower temperature, so even my delicate sweaters are safe to put in the drum.

Faster drying With Speed Perfect Plus, I dry my laundry extra quickly. The cotton program dries a full load in 4 hours and 45 minutes. If I select Speed Perfect Plus, I shorten the time to 2 hours and 40 minutes. This way, I'm done faster and less rushed. The shortening function doesn't work with the eco program, which takes 4 hours and 25 minutes. The advantage is that it saves me a lot of energy.

Smart Dry Another handy feature is Smart Dry. I use it to connect my Bosch dryer to my Bosch washing machine via the Home Connect app. This allows me to control the washer and dryer remotely. With Smart Dry, my dryer automatically selects the right drying program based on my last wash cycle. This way, I always give my clothes the best possible care, keeping them looking their best for longer.

Fewer wrinkles The Iron Assist program reduces wrinkles on one to five shirts. It takes some figuring out how to refill the water for this steam function. I first remove the condensation tank from the dryer. Then I fill the plastic container inside the drum with water. Then, I pour the water from the container into the opening behind the condensation tank, right in the dryer itself. After the Iron Assist program, I have fewer wrinkles.

Cleans automatically Cleaning a dryer isn't my favorite chore. Fortunately, this dryer requires minimal maintenance, and the condenser rinses automatically. This keeps the heat pump dryer performing its function effectively and ensures it remains energy-efficient throughout its lifespan.

When the 22-year-old Miele started malfunctioning, I decided to switch to a heat pump dryer. I already had a preference, but the explanation in the store sealed the deal.

I did get a bit of a scare the first time drying at the end of the cycle when I suddenly heard water flowing. It turns out that was the condenser flushing.

Good appliance! Dries very well, makes little noise, and gives off almost no heat, keeping the room cool. I just find the Eco setting really too long. With a family and a lot of laundry, I don't have time to run a dryer for 5 hours. It has shorter programs that dry very well, but officially, you can put less weight in them. That isn't mentioned anywhere when you buy it. However, you can only load 9 kilos on the cotton and Eco programs; all other programs allow for fewer kilos.
