I use the Vortech Prestige when I want to game wirelessly with a lot of freedom and handy extra features. The keyboard feels sturdy and has convenient buttons, a small screen with a rotary dial, and a USB-A dongle. The box contains a manual, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and a USB-A dongle.
Compact design
What immediately strikes me is the compact layout. This leaves me more room for my mouse and keeps everything closer together. I like this during fast-paced shooters, because I move faster and don't shift my hands as far. I do have to get used to the arrow keys, though. They are positioned closer to the other keys than on a classic 100 percent keyboard. Because I am used to a larger size, I sometimes pressed the wrong key at first. After a while, I get used to it and notice that the compact design actually works well while gaming.
There are multiple buttons and the USB-A dongle at the top of the keyboard. I find this handy, because it keeps everything quickly at hand. I consider the small screen with the rotary dial a real addition. This allows me to easily adjust settings without having to constantly search through the software. For example, I can quickly change the RGB lighting or check the time.
Quick connection and setup
I connect this keyboard however I want. I do this via Bluetooth, the 2.4 gigahertz USB dongle, or the included USB cable. That gives me a lot of freedom. I also switch between multiple devices. The keyboard supports Bluetooth 5.2, and I pair it with 3 devices simultaneously. This allows me to easily switch between, for example, my gaming PC and another device. I also customize the RGB lighting myself and choose from 16.8 million colors. This ensures the keyboard fits well with the rest of my setup. The average battery life of 40 hours is fine. During longer sessions, I sometimes charge it in between.
Gaming with fast registration
The Vortech Prestige features linear mechanical keys. As a result, I feel and hear less feedback when I press a key. I personally like that, because keystrokes feel smooth and I provide input in quick succession. This keyboard also features anti-ghosting, rapid trigger, and a polling rate of 1,000 hertz. As a result, my commands come through crisply while gaming. I notice this especially in matches where timing is important. Whether I'm playing a shooter or another fast-paced game, I feel like my actions register instantly.
