The Sennheiser Momentum 5 is a comfortable pair of headphones that delivers full and clear sound. This allows me to listen to my favorite music and podcasts for as long as I want. The clamping force is not very strong, causing the headphones to slip down if I tilt my head too much.

Full and clear sound The sound is full, allowing the music to really resonate. I can hear the high tones of vocals and instruments clearly. As a result, the music sounds detailed and realistic. Additionally, I hear clear bass tones. This allows me to hear the beat well, but it doesn't overpower it. Thanks to this balanced sound reproduction, I can listen to music comfortably for a long time. Every genre is done justice, from classical music to energetic house music.

Comfortable design The headphones sit comfortably on my head. The ear cushions and headband are made of soft material and feel nice. The headphones do not sit too tightly, so I don't have a pressing feeling on my head. However, they do slide off my head when I look down, for example at my phone. There are touch controls on the earcups, allowing me to quickly pause the track or skip to the next song. I find it convenient that the headphones have wear detection, because then I don't miss any of my music or podcast if I take them off for a moment.

Extensive app I find a lot of settings in the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app. For instance, I set how strong I want the noise cancelling to be. When I go outside, I also turn on the Anti-wind. Furthermore, I choose from 10 different pre-equalizer presets or turn on Bass Boost for stronger bass tones. For Dolby Atmos movies and music, I ensure spatial sound with Immersive Audio. This makes the sound around you sound more realistic. Finally, you will find information about the touch controls.

I have had the Momentum 5 for a week now and have not a single complaint so far.

After using the Momentum 5 daily for a week, I have lost approximately 30% of the battery, so if I only have to charge my headphones on average once a month, I think that is fantastic.

Battery replaceability is also an important point for me; I always try to use the products I use for as long as possible, and usually it is the battery that starts to fail first. My previous headphones were the Sony WH-1000XM3, and towards the end, I had to charge them more than I could listen.

Because I am someone who always wears glasses, comfort is also a very important point for me, and the Momentum 5 gets a 10/10 from me in that regard; not a single moment of discomfort, even when wearing them for extended periods. My ears also do not get too hot after hours of listening pleasure. I am certainly impressed by the sound quality as well; regardless of the music I was listening to, the Momentum 5 sounded fantastic. Whether it was the heavy bass of rap music or the clarity of all the instruments in a band in more instrumental music, I just thought it sounded absolutely beautiful. The ANC also works very well and allows you to completely immerse yourself in your music.

I have been traveling very regularly for over 20 years and have used quite a few headsets and earbuds in the meantime. The Momentum 5 surprised me most with its excellent noise cancellation and enormous battery life. Even after days of use, I hardly have to think about charging. The ANC blocks out the environment impressively well, while transparency allows you to decide for yourself how much ambient noise you still want to hear.

The sound quality is also excellent, and the wearing comfort makes it ideal for long flights. By now, I even use it more often than my earbuds, also at home and at the office for meetings.

The only downside: for a premium headset that is clearly suitable for travel, I find it a pity that no airplane adapter is included. The audio cable is included, however.

Not cheap, but for me, absolutely a successful purchase. Premium sound, top-notch noise cancellation, and a battery that keeps going.
