Sony Bravia 7 II True RGB 55" (2026) + Sony Bravia Theater Bar 7+S

The Bravia 7 II is the little brother of the Bravia 9 II, but it performs above expectations in many areas. For instance, I am watching colorful, realistic images thanks to the True RGB screen and the anti-reflective coating. The picture is so colorful that I almost wonder when you would need a Bravia 9 II. The TV also has a transparent stand, making it almost a shame to mount it on a bracket. The only downside is the narrow viewing angle.

Unique True RGB screen The Bravia 7 II's most important feature is the True RGB screen. Like many other LED TVs, the Bravia 7 II has thousands of LED lights behind the image that illuminate the pixels on the screen. But instead of white light, these lights emit colored light immediately, making colors more realistic. I notice this clearly at any time of day. It doesn't matter what I watch or when I watch; the displayed images are colorful and vivid. The contrast in bright images is very similar to that of an OLED TV. Handy anti-reflective coating Like many other Sony LED TVs from 2026, the Bravia 7 II features an anti-reflective coating. The screen does not have a matte appearance but remains glossy, blocking a large portion of reflections. As a result, I am bothered very little by reflections and can watch a movie, series, or TV program during the day without any problems. This is fine when I am sitting directly in front of the TV, but unfortunately, reflections are quite noticeable from an angle. So, are you watching a sports match with a group of friends in the middle of the day? Then it is sometimes worth the effort to darken your room a little.

Luxurious design You get a luxurious, transparent stand with this TV. It consists of two separate legs over which you place a transparent plate. This makes it look as if the TV is floating, whether you place it on a surface or mount it on a bracket. The stand is so beautiful that it is almost a shame not to use it. Therefore, I would only mount the TV on a bracket if you need the space on your TV stand. Think, for example, of a large soundbar.

Now, just under two weeks later, I can say with conviction: what a top-notch TV! Before this, I had an OLED TV; now I have one with True RGB. The basic settings were very dark, but the right buttons were found quickly. You can get the image incredibly bright, sharp, and colorful. At the highest settings, I do sometimes see white lines near a black intermediate screen, especially at high brightness. Fortunately, you don't see any of this while watching. The image is clearly brighter and sharper than my previous OLED, although I do sometimes miss that perfect OLED black. Setup was hassle-free via my phone. The TV also immediately recognized my PlayStation and recommended the correct HDMI input for 4K and the best refresh rate (hertz). That was correct, because gaming looks absolutely bizarrely good! The special modes for FPS, RTS, and general use are perfect and can be fine-tuned per game. The number of settings is enormous, though; I sometimes go overboard because I think it could look even better. The remote control is nice and basic, light, and backlit. The accompanying app also works perfectly, although I did miss a keyboard function on my phone. The sound is very nice, especially with DTS. Voices are sometimes a bit difficult to understand per series or movie, though. Unfortunately, the built-in voice booster doesn't always help very well. All in all, a solid 8/10! The TV is lightning fast with apps and cloud games, and watching split-screen YouTube while gaming is great. I am really happy with it.

I have had this Sony for a while now and am very satisfied with it. The picture, in particular, is truly beautiful. The colors are vibrant, but fortunately not as excessively bright as you see on some televisions. Black also looks surprisingly good, and a lot of detail comes through in movies and series. During the day, there is quite a bit of light in our room, but even then the screen remains clearly visible. In the evening, it actually comes into its own even better. Especially with good 4K content, you do notice that you are looking at a television from a somewhat higher price range. Controlling it via Google TV is pleasant and fast. I also didn't have to endlessly go through settings to get the picture right. The sound from the television itself is fine, but don't expect miracles. For movies, I would personally use a soundbar with it. The only minor downside I have noticed so far is that the picture deteriorates somewhat if you sit really at an angle to the television. Directly in front of it or slightly off-center, there is no problem. It is quite pricey, but if you place a lot of value on beautiful and natural image quality, I certainly think it is worth considering.
