How do you measure if an oven fits in your kitchen?

A built-in oven has a standard niche height of 45 or 60cm. You choose an oven if you like to bake pies, bread, or cookies.

The niche dimensions of a built-in oven are often smaller than the width and height of the oven itself. That's why it's important to measure them accurately. The front of the oven is often slightly wider than the back. The back of the oven will precisely fit the niche, while the front of the oven will neatly align with your kitchen cabinets.

Use a measuring tool to measure the niche height from the bottom of the niche to the top. Can't empty the niche? Measure the cabinet next to it or the appliance itself. The smallest standard niche height for an oven is 45cm. Most combi ovens are only available in this size. The largest standard niche height for an oven is 60cm. An oven of this size is more spacious, but often doesn't have a microwave function.

Measure the niche from the left to the right. That's how wide your new oven can be. The standard niche width of an oven is often somewhere between 55 and 60cm. When your old oven is still in the niche, you can measure the kitchen cabinet or oven itself.

To know the depth of your niche, measure it from the back to the front of the niche. Can't get your oven out of the niche? You can measure the cabinet itself. The standard niche depth is about 55cm.
