How waterproof is the Apple Watch?

From the Apple Watch Series 2 onward, these smartwatches are waterproof up to a 50m depth. That means you can completely submerge the Watch in the water. You can easily wear your Apple Watch when you go swimming in the sea or a pool or take a shower. You can only keep the Apple Watch Ultra on while diving, water skiing, or during other water activities. The water speed and depth would be too much for the other models. In the water, the Apple Watch automatically locks the screen. Click on the Digital Crown when you're done swimming or out of the water. The smartwatch will then vibrate to remove the water.

Feel free to dive into the water with silicone Apple watch straps. Not all Apple Watch straps are water-resistant. It's not a good idea to swim or shower with the metal and leather straps. The nylon straps are also unsuitable for swimming.

The Apple Watch is waterproof, and you'll want to keep it that way. That's why Apple doesn't recommend to expose the smartwatch to products like shampoo and perfume. These products could affect the waterproofness.
