Connect to Samsung SmartThings
After I've received my washing machine and connected everything, I want to get started with all smart functions. I connect my Samsung washing machine to the Samsung SmartThings app for this. Connecting with the app is very easy. I scan the QR code at the front of the washing machine in the app and connect it directly to my phone. After that, I can connect the washing machine to WiFi. I do need a 2.4GHz WiFi channel for this. Luckily, my router already has that.
Connect to Free Washing
Now that the washing machine is connected, I want to get started with Free Washing. I have an energy contract from Coolblue Energy. In the SmartThings app, I tap through a few tabs. When I've found Free Washing and Drying, I connect the washing machine to my Coolblue Energy account. This is much easier than expected. I've connected my washing machine with the SmartThings app and Free Washing in 5 minutes.
Saves extra energy
To wash for free, I do my laundry between 12:00 and 15:00. After a few days, I can see in the Samsung SmartThings app how much energy I consume. In the tab 'activity', I can even see how much energy I've consumed for free. Via the Coolblue Energy app, I can see this even better. In my Free Washing tab, I can see per day in the graph how much of my energy consumption was free.
Conclusion
With Free Washing, I can easily and quickly save energy. Connecting is much easier than I thought. I connected the washing machine in 5 minutes to the SmartThings app and Free Washing. I can easily see my consumption and savings in the Samsung app and the Coolblue Energy app. This way, I can save on energy costs every wash cycle. That saves me on my energy bill.
