How do you place the Claris Smart water filter in your JURA D4?

On this page, you can see how to place the Claris Smart water filter in your JURA D4. The water filter prevents limescale buildup. If you replace it every 3 months, you only have to descale your JURA once every 2 years. That's useful, because limescale can damage the interior of your machine.

Get started with the water filter

Follow the instructions in the video to place the water filter correctly. This takes about 10 minutes. We'll take you through these steps:

How often should you replace the water filter?

You have to replace the water filter once every 3 months. You'll see a notification on the display when it's time to replace. The water filter communicates with the coffee machine via Bluetooth. This way, the water filter works very accurately and prevents 99% limescale buildup. As a result, you don't really have to descale. Keep in mind that you replace the filter in time. You can only use the JURA Claris Smart water filter.

Place water filter in JURA

Step 1. remove the old water filter

  1. The icon for the water filter lights up when it's time to replace it.
  2. Remove the water tank from the coffee machine and empty it.
  3. Open the filter holder and remove the used filter from the water tank.
  4. Place the new water filter it in the same spot.
  5. Close the filter holder.
Rinse the machine

Step 2: rinse the water filter

  1. Fill the water tank up to the 'max' level and place the water tank in the machine.
  2. Put a container of at least 500ml underneath the hot water outlet.
  3. Turn the dial in the top right from the 'I' setting to the coffee cup with droplets.
  4. A small and large coffee cup now blink on the display.
  5. Water will now come out the machine and stop automatically.
  6. When the water stops coming from the machine, turn the dial back to the 'I' setting.
  7. The water filter icon disappears from the display and all buttons turn white.
  8. Remove the container and empty it in the sink.
  9. You have successfully installed the water filter.
