With an oven-proof pan, you can roast your meat first, before you cook it in the oven. You can simply put an oven-proof pan in the pre-heated oven directly from the stove, and onto the table. It differs per pan which oven temperature they can handle. Be sure to check up to which temperature the pan can go into the oven to prevent damage.
