Our digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our monitor expert
Razor-sharp image: the 5K resolution makes photos and videos look lifelike, and you can see every detail clearly.
For powerful laptops: thanks to the 96W power of the USB-C dock, you can charge a powerful laptop via the monitor.
Work ergonomically: the height-adjustable screen lets you create an ergonomic posture.
No built-in webcam: because the monitor doesn’t have a built-in webcam, you’ll need a separate one if you want to make video calls.
Needs a lot of desk space: this monitor is very large, so you need a lot of space on your desk.

Ever since LG announced it at CES 2021 (a year and a half between announcement and availability), I've been eagerly waiting for this homeworking/photo editing/video editing beast. As soon as it was available I ordered it.
Mainly bought because of:
So far, my experiences with the screen are positive, only when connecting a Macbook Pro you have to take into account that it switches to an HDR setting by default. However, this means that the contrast and brightness leave something to be desired. Disabling HDR is the only logical option for office work.
The most convenient thing is that, if your laptop supports it, you can connect it with 1 (Thunderbolt) cable and it can both use the built-in USB HUB, charge your laptop and send the video signal all over that same (Thunderbolt) cable.
Another tip, buy a monitor arm immediately, because the supplied foot just takes up too much space on your desk, keep in mind that it is a serious boy, so I also bought one for the monitor arm myself. Can carry 18kg as the monitor itself weighs over 10kg.

I work full time at home with this screen (graphic designer). I was initially happy with the product in terms of quality and colors, but after a few weeks, the screen often (2-3 times a week) started to flicker enormously, accompanied by a beep from the back. That only goes away if I turn it off for a few hours. For that money I would have hoped for better. The button at the bottom of the screen also does not always respond. The back looks a bit 90s plastic, but it still stands against the wall. The foot takes up a lot of space, so it is better to use a brace.

After hesitating for a long time, I now went for a widescreen and I'm glad I did. The curve ensures that you have a good view of this 1 meter wide screen. It's wonderful to have so much space for both work and private life.
This screen has been on the market for a while and newer screens are slowly coming onto the market, but the price is still high (just like this screen is not cheap). The image is sharp and has good colours. The room where I am sitting is not overly lit, so the contrast is very good for me.
A nice feature is that the screen has PbP (Picture by Picture), so you can view two different sources at the same time. This can be a 1:1 division and also approximately 2/3 + 1/3 (4K width + remainder). You have to adjust this setting via the menu, which works reasonably well with the button below the screen. The pity about this is that functions are hidden in the menu and, for example, quickly switching between PbP and normal is therefore not possible.
