Vortech Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard QWERTY

The Vortech Pro Gaming Keyboard is a nice keyboard with various features. Thanks to the fast registration of the linear switch and the numeric keypad, I use this keyboard for gaming and work. Because this keyboard is wired, I have less freedom of movement, but I don't find this bothersome.

First Impression

The keyboard comes in a neat box. I slide the cardboard off and unpack the keyboard. The keyboard feels heavy. I like that. To me, that feels like good quality. On the side, I see a silver edge. That looks neat and sleek.

Easily Customizable to Your Preferences

I connect the keyboard to my laptop quickly and easily. The RGB lighting turns on, and I immediately set the colors to pink. I do this using the FN multimedia and home keys. I like that, because it means I don't have to use complicated software. This way, I can quickly adjust the colors so they match my setup well. I love having everything in the same color. I also like the feet under the keyboard. They keep the keyboard slightly elevated. This way, my hands and arms rest more comfortably on my desk. That not only feels nice but is also ergonomic.

Handy keys

Thanks to the linear switch, the keys respond quickly when I touch them. I like that, because it prevents me from pressing the keys too hard. That is handy, as it allows me to switch weapons quickly during a game of COD. I also appreciate that I don't hear or feel any feedback with these keys. I'm not really a fan of loud clicks, and thanks to the linear switch, the noise is much less noticeable. As a result, others are less bothered by me when they want to read a book in silence. In addition to the FN multimedia key, this keyboard also features a status LED display. The lights are located on the right side of the keyboard. When the blue light is on, I can quickly see if my Windows Lock is on. This prevents me from pressing the Windows key during an exciting game and suddenly ending up on my desktop.

Spill-resistant keyboard with numeric keypad

This keyboard also has a numeric keypad. Because of this, I use it not only for gaming but also for work. I also use the numeric keypad for shortcuts. This way, I execute actions faster. Furthermore, I am quite clumsy. I often knock over glasses or cans on my desk, but this keyboard is spill-proof. That is why I simply put my cans back within easy reach.

I'm very pleased with it so far. Installation was a breeze. You can easily find out how everything works in the included user manual (also in Dutch).

Everything works via the FN button. So you can change the lighting color and mode.

The keyboard light is separate from the surrounding light bar. So you have complete flexibility.

You can even create your own lighting scheme.

It feels solid and heavy, 820g, so it stands firmly. The feet only have one height adjustment. So with or without feet, there is no other choice.

So we'll see how the board holds up over the coming period.

I'm coming from a Logitech K310, so everything takes some getting used to.

I ended up with this keyboard now that my Logitech K310 was starting to give me trouble. I didn't want to spend a lot of money right away, so I thought this was a great deal.

The keyboard came packaged in a nice box with a manual (and yes, in the Netherlands too).

It's a matter of plugging it in and going. You control the lighting using the FN key. It is well described in the manual. Everything is adjustable, even the option to create your own layout.

The keyboard feels sturdy and heavy, 820g; it sits robustly on your desk.

So far, I am a satisfied user. It takes some getting used to for me, as it is my first mechanical keyboard, but it does feel very snappy. The idea is that for gaming, it responds better than my old K310 keyboard, but that is to be expected after 15 years of use.
