The standard BlueBuilt stacking kit has a plastic frame. It's sturdy enough, but this generally doesn't last as long as an aluminum frame. That's why you should handle the stacking kit carefully and shouldn't place a a full basket with wet laundry on the worktop.
Worktop material
Premium BlueBuilt: HDF worktop (15kg load capacity)
The HDF worktop of the premium model is extra sturdy, so you can place a heavier laundry basket on it. It's suitable for up to 15kg, so you can place a basket with wet bedding on it. HDF stands for high-density fiberboard, which is very dense compressed wood with a high fiber density. The worktop doesn't break as easily, because it's more flexible than plastic.
BlueBuilt: plastic worktop (10kg load capacity)
A plastic worktop is suitable for up to 10kg. It's less sturdy than HDF and breaks faster. That's why you should stick to the maximum load capacity. Keep in mind that wet laundry is heavier than dry laundry. Don't put an overflowing laundry basket on the worktop, because it increases the risk of it breaking. In addition, plastic looks cheaper than HDF. This may affect your decision if that doesn't match your interior.

You can slide out the premium worktop more smoothly thanks to the ball bearings. This allows you to fold your laundry faster. And you can easily slide the worktop back in.
