How do you find the IMEI number of your smartphone?
Every telephone has a unique IMEI number. This allows you to find useful information from a telephone, such as how old the device is or who the owner is. This can come in handy if your phone breaks so you can see if it's under warranty. Also useful if you want to report your stolen phone. I explain how to find the IMEI number here.
How do I find the IMEI number of my smartphone?
There are 3 ways to find out what the IMEI number of your Android phone is. All 3 ways are equally easy and fast. You can recognize an IMEI number quickly, because it consists of at least 13 digits. Do you have a mobile phone without an Android operating system? Go to the third step.
Method 1: the packaging of the telephone
Have you just purchased a smartphone? If so, it comes to you in a package. This box has a sticker with the unique IMEI number of your phone. If you have the box somewhere that you can easily reach, you have the IMEI number at hand.
Way 2: the settings of your smartphone
Maybe you have already thrown away the packaging of your phone or it's somewhere at the back of the loft. Fortunately, you can quickly find the IMEI number of your phone without the box. How? Go to the settings of your smartphone. Because the settings of an Android phone often look different per model or brand, there is no fixed route. But if you type 'IMEI' at the top of the search bar, you will find the number in no time.
Method 3: available for every telephone
If you have no packaging, no search bar in your settings, or a mobile phone without an Android operating system, there's a quick third way to find your IMEI number. To do this, go to the call menu and type *#06#. After this, the IMEI number of your device will immediately appear on your screen.
