According to our laptop expert
Realistic colors: enjoy more realistic, richer colors with the AMOLED display.
Handle demanding tasks with AI: edit photos or videos, perform demanding tasks with AI, and enjoy a long battery life.
Useful AI features: use useful AI features like Cocreate with this Copilot+ PC.
Not for the heaviest tasks: your laptop slows down when you work in the most demanding programs. You’ll need a more powerful processor for that.
More bothered by reflections: you'll notice glare, smudges, and fingerprints more quickly on the glossy screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 16'' with Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage offers me an impressive combination of performance and functionality. Below we discuss some important aspects of this laptop.
One of the most striking features is the good battery life. With home garden and kitchen use, the laptop lasts more than a working day. Note that you then turn down the brightness of the screen. The design of the Galaxy Book5 Pro is both slim and stylish. I think it is one of the thinnest 16-inch laptops on the market. The aluminum casing exudes quality and offers durability. However, the laptop does feel a bit heavier. My old 17-inch laptop has about the same weight, but my work laptop a DELL 15-inch is a lot lighter. Multi-control ensures that you can operate multiple Galaxy devices simultaneously with the keyboard and mouse of the laptop. Sharing files between devices is effortless with Quick Share, and Microsoft Phone Link lets users use Galaxy AI features like Circle to Search and Chat Assist on a larger screen. Although this can be very useful, I notice that I have hardly used it. Thanks to the processor and 16GB of RAM, I can use heavier games, including Cities: Skylines with mods, without any problems. The graphics performance is also more than fine! Despite the fact that it is not a gaming laptop, I am very pleased with the performance.
Conclusion A very nice laptop that can handle heavier games and processes. The screen feels very large, which I like. The battery lasts very well in terms of life. What I like less is the layout of the numpad. For years I have been used to a different layout, which often makes me miss the '0'.

After 5 months, a crack spontaneously appeared in the screen. I read on the internet that this is a common problem. The laptop is at Coolblue for repair; I hope to get it back soon.

I've had the opportunity to test this laptop for the past two weeks, and I've been extremely pleased with it.
I've reviewed this laptop on battery life, integration with my other Samsung devices, overall performance, and AI capabilities.
Battery life Let me start with the battery life: it's incredibly long. An email here, a document there, and even the occasional render in Photoshop for this laptop is no problem. You can easily get through a whole day with a full battery. And if you do eventually get to the point where the battery is empty, it charges quickly again. However, a small drawback is the length of the included USB-C cord; personally, I would have liked it to be a bit longer.
Performance You're not wrong in terms of performance either. The 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM is sufficient for most users. If you're a heavier user, the 32 GB option might be a better choice. The Ultra 7 256V processor and the ARC 140V video card are certainly suitable for tasks such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro, and there is also room for a game every now and then.
Connections and integration The connections are plentiful, which is certainly nice. The SD card slot is also a handy addition, with which I can easily read the SD card of my GoPro, among other things. In addition, the integration with my Samsung phone is seamless: I can easily transfer photos via Windows Explorer with the Share Storage app, and I can effortlessly use my tablet as an external screen. Another handy feature is that you can connect your laptop to your hotspot with one click when you are outside, without having to take your phone with you.
AI and search function As for the AI options: they are very extensive, but I don't think they are quite at the same level as on my phone or tablet. The search function works via Bing instead of Google, which I think is a shame. The search results aren't necessarily disappointing, though they aren't always as accurate as when you perform the same search on your phone via Google.
