How do you choose an affordable dryer?

You want to buy an affordable dryer. You can read what you can expect from an affordable dryer per price range here. The most affordable dryers dry relatively quickly, but keep in mind that they're not energy-efficient. If you want to save energy and protect your laundry, choose an affordable heat pump dryer.

Dryer up to € 450

Dryers up to € 550

Dryers up to € 550 are almost always condenser dryers. Thanks to the high drying temperature, your clothes dry relatively quickly. A full drum with space for the laundry of 1 or 2 people is dry in 2 hours on average. The disadvantage is that an affordable dryer uses a lot of energy. Due to the high drying temperature, your laundry is also more likely to shrink.

What you can expect:

  • Almost always a condenser dryer.
  • You pay a lot in energy costs with a B or A++ energy label (not energy-efficient).
  • Laundry wears out and shrinks faster.
Dryer from € 450 to € 500

Dryers from € 550 to € 600

Do you choose a dryer between € 550 and € 600? You can mostly choose between dryers with an A++ or B energy label. A dryer with an A++ energy label is a heat pump dryer. Thanks to the heat pump, you can dry at a low temperature. As a result, your laundry doesn't shrink. This energy label isn't energy-efficient yet, but doesn't use as much power as a condenser dryer with a B energy label.

What to expect:

  • Dryer with an A++ or B energy label (not energy-efficient).
  • Your laundry takes longer to dry, but stays in good condition for longer.
Dryer from € 500 to € 550

Dryers from € 600 to € 650

Within this price range, you'll have more heat pump dryers to choose from. Most appliances have an A++ energy label. This allows you to dry at a low temperature, which is better for your energy bill. Most dryers within this price range are suitable for small and medium-sized laundry cycles.

What you can expect:

  • Often an A++ heat pump dryer.
  • Often suitable for small or medium-sized wash cycles.
  • Your laundry takes longer to dry, but stays in good condition for longer.
