How do I connect my dryer to the drain?

You have a condenser dryer or a heat pump dryer you can connect to the water drain. Thanks to the drain hose, you don't have to empty the condenser reservoir. Do you have an AEG heat pump dryer or a Miele heat pump dryer? In this article, you can read how to connect your dryer to the drain per brand.

No drain hose included?

Condensation drain hose

Do you have a condenser dryer or heat pump dryer you can connect to the water drain? If you don't have a drain hose, make sure to buy one. A condensation drain hose is around 1.5 meters long. Is your dryer's hose too short? It might be useful to purchase a standard drain hose. This automatically drains the moisture from your laundry. That means you don't have to empty the condenser reservoir.

AEG and Zanussi

AEG and Zanussi back dryer

You can find the drain hose on AEG and Zanussi dryers on the top right corner on the back. It always has a short, red or green hose. If it includes a gray condensation drain hose, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the hose clamp.
  2. Disconnect the red or green tube at the top.
  3. Connect the gray drain hose connector to the connector on the top.
  4. Connect the drain hose to the water drain.

Miele

For Miele dryers, you can use the existing drain hose. You can find this at the back of the dryer.

  1. Detach the existing drain hose from the nozzle.
  2. Unwind the hose from the holder and carefully pull it from the clamps.
  3. Place the drain hose in your existing drain.

The drain hose connector of Bosch and Siemens condenser dryers is at the back of the appliance, in the bottom right corner. The connector is situated here, with a holder for the hose beside it.

  1. Detach the existing hose from the connector and connect it to the holder.
  2. Connect the included drain hose to the freed-up connector.
  3. Connect the drain hose to the existing drain.

Bosch and Siemens heat pump dryer

Like a Bosch and Siemens condenser dryer, the connector is located on the bottom right. The connector is situated here, with a holder for the hose beside it.

  1. Detach the existing hose from the connector and connect it to the holder.
  2. Connect the included drain hose to the freed-up connector.
  3. Remove the filter from the holder in the condensation water reservoir.
  4. Place the filter in the slot at the top of the reservoir.
  5. Place the reservoir back into the dryer.

Samsung

A Samsung dryer has a connector for the water drain on the back, bottom right side. You can find 2 connectors here. A hose is connected to one of these by default.

  1. Detach the existing hose and connect it to the other connector.
  2. Connect the included drain hose to the freed-up connector.
  3. Connect this hose to your existing drain.

LG

You can find the connector of an LG dryer at the back, on the bottom.

  1. Detach the existing hose from the nozzle.
  2. Connect the new drain hose to the nozzle.
  3. Connect the drain hose to the water drain.

Whirlpool

  2. Place your drain hose in your water drain.
