According to our laptop expert
The 17.3-inch Lenovo Legion Y540-17IRH 81Q4001CMH is a gaming laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 video card. You can play Call of Duty Modern Warfare without any problems. While you and your friends are in the multiplayer lobby, you can open programs like OBS and Discord in the background without problems. Since this Lenovo Legion has 16GB RAM, you can easily run multiple programs in the background. The screen also has a 144Hz refresh rate, so motions are displayed more fluently than on a 60Hz screen, for example. This makes it easier to aim at opponents, which gives you the advantage in online shooters. The 1TB SSD provides enough space for the most part of your game collection.

I have been using the Y540 for a few days and am very satisfied. A powerful gaming machine that is equal to the competition in this price range. The laptop looks sleek and businesslike and is nicely finished. No silly Christmas tree lighting like most gaming laptops. The keyboard feels comfortable and is illuminated with white LEDs. The 17-inch IPS screen is sleek, clear and looks smooth in games thanks to the 144hz. The Intel 9750H processor and the GeForce RTX2060 video card pull the games away nicely on high settings. The CPU, on the other hand, can get quite warm.
Cons: Battery only lasts a few hours. In my case no problem as I only use the laptop at home. In addition, the camera is located at the bottom of the screen, which is not very useful. Speakers sound a bit tinny but I almost always use a bluetooth headset.
TIP: The air intake is located at the bottom of the laptop. I raised the laptop 1.5 cm at the back with a block. This frees the grid better and the air can be drawn in better, which in turn results in better cooling in games.

I use this laptop for programming. The keyboard and touchpad are of superior quality, which is very comfortable to work with. The device also feels very sturdy. The screen does not move at all when opening and closing. And the Harman speakers certainly have added value, the sound is superior!
What I struggled with at first was the battery life. Out of the box, on low-light battery-saving mode, the battery lasted less than 2 hours for regular word processing. But after some tinkering with NVidia and the Lenovo Vantage app, that has improved a lot. Now the battery is charged in a good hour and it lasts about 5.5 hours.
The only thing that annoys me a bit is the position of the camera. It is located at the bottom of the screen and that ensures that your video callers view you from below. That's a bit weird. But by placing the camera at the bottom, the screen is sturdier. That's a compromise I can live with. On the other hand, this laptop still lacks a Thunderbolt connection. Not a problem for me, but still important to know. And the ventilation can be noisy on tasks that don't actually consume a lot of resources. That can also be adjusted with the Lenovo Vantage app. It is, after all, a gaming laptop. So it's only normal for it to blow every now and then. There is no app provided to manually set the fans, as is the case with other brands.
I don't game myself. I can't share experience with that. But 3D rendering and the like are effortless.
All in all, an absolute must in terms of value for money! If a 4k version comes out I would buy it again immediately!

I've been using the laptop for over a week now and haven't had any problems with it. The gaming is almost perfect, and other programs like Word, Netflix, etc. work perfectly.
