With modem routers, you can make a direct connection with your internet provider. The modem converts the signal of your cable, fiber optic, or DSL provider into something your router understands. Usually, you get a modem from your internet provider. As a modem is built-in, you don't need a separate box from your internet provider anymore. As a result, a modem router takes up less space and the connection is faster because you don't need as many products.
