This HP OmniBook 5 Next Gen AI PC is a fast and pleasant laptop. I see all details sharply and colorfully on the screen, allowing me to edit my concert photos down to the last detail. However, the screen is glossy, so I sometimes struggle with some glare.
First impression This HP OmniBook 5 model is a 16-inch laptop. The screen is large and has a 16:10 aspect ratio. As a result, I maintain a good overview and can easily work in two windows side by side. For someone accustomed to a small laptop, this one does feel a bit large. The design of this laptop is simple but neat. The laptop has 2 USB-C and 2 USB-A ports. This makes it easy for me to connect accessories such as a mouse and keyboard. I also connect the laptop to my monitor via the HDMI port.
Sharp and colorful display The screen of this laptop is great. Thanks to the 2K resolution, I see details sharply on the screen. For instance, I can see the confetti from a concert and the strings of a guitar clearly in the image. Thanks to the OLED panel, colors appear vivid. I also see a lot of detail in dark photos and videos, because the deep black tones reveal more contrast between colors. As a result, I select the right filters more smoothly and easily edit all the colors in my photos. The screen does have a glare, though, so sometimes I have to reposition the laptop if I am bothered by light reflections.
Powerful AI processor and nice keyboard This HP OmniBook features a powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processor and 32 gigabytes of RAM. This allows me to work easily in various editing programs without the laptop freezing or lagging. I also use AI while editing, as this Panther Lake processor has an NPU. Consequently, this laptop processes AI tasks even faster. Furthermore, this laptop has a backlit keyboard that I can adjust to different brightness levels. This way, I always choose the right brightness and can continue working on my photos and videos even in the evening.

According to our laptop expert
Realistic colors: enjoy realistic, richer colors thanks to the OLED display.
Handle demanding tasks with AI: edit photos or videos, perform demanding tasks with AI, and enjoy a long battery life.
Useful AI features: use useful AI features like Cocreate with this Copilot+ PC.
Not for the heaviest tasks: your laptop slows down when you work in the most demanding programs. You’ll need a more powerful processor for that.
Less sturdy casing: the casing of this laptop is less sturdy, so it gets damaged more quickly from bumps or scratches.
